Cats for Adoption
Coastal Cats Rescue Delaware is a non-profit organization based in Bethany Beach and the surrounding area. Run by Terri Nicholson, this organization is a local staple, helping stray and feral cats throughout the county and holding well-organized adoption fairs. Terri is a fantastic petsitter and cares a lot about the ethical treatment of cats, specifically ferals who wouldn't be treated the same otherwise. For more information on Coastal Cats, head over to their Facebook page or give Terri a call at (302) 236-5184. She gratefully accepts any and all donations at this link which can also be found on the Coastal Cats Facebook page.
Visit the Most Beautiful Place in Delaware
Only in Delaware
Consisting of more than 15,000 acres of preserved marshland and waterways, Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge opened in 1937 and was first funded by a Federal Duck Stamp program. The refuge was named the most beautiful place in Delaware last summer by Conde Nast Traveler, a luxury and lifestyle travel magazine and it's easy to see why. Bombay Hook has a unique location that falls along the International Flyway, a path that is taken by thousands of birds each year on their way north and south. It also holds a diverse marsh ecosystem with a variety of fish, frogs, reptiles, amphibians, and mammals that call this refuge home. If you're planning a visit to Bombay Hook, be sure to print a brochure from their website to assist you on an auto tour and stay through sunset to watch the gorgeous colors over the water!

If selling your home is on the list, you should consider implementing a few frugal home staging tips before you go and spend money on new items you don’t need. Houston-based home stager Shelley Barndollar says that homebuyers can purchase at least three living room accessories used to elevate the price tag of a home. Our Harvest
Featured Restaurant
Our Harvest is a unique restaurant that specializes in seasonal cooking, paying direct tribute to the farmers, fishermen, cattlemen, cheesemakers and winemakers who work hard to provide them with the best quality products. Their location even features an assortment of seating arrangements and menu options designed to meet the individual needs of each customer. With a highly talented kitchen staff who holds hospitality to a high standard and delicious ingredients that are harvested that day, it's hard to compare Our Harvest to anywhere else.

Established not too long ago in the summer of 2017, Our Harvest has a menu that is constantly evolving. For example, they receive fresh asparagus in spring from Fifer Orchards in Camden Wyoming, DE, juicy peaches in July from Bennett Orchard in Dagsboro, DE, and broccoli in October from Baywater Farms in Salisbury, MD. They get excited each season to offer fresh and local ingredients right at their peak harvest time to a dedicated range of new and old customers.

For more information, hours, and full menus, head over to their website or give them a call at (302) 581-0377.

The Book Drop
Featured Retail
The Book Drop is a subscription program run by the amazing people at Bethany Beach Books, Bethany Beach's independent bookstore. While Bethany Beach Books was established in 1991, The Book Drop was created in 2015 by manager and book-buyer Amanda Zirn Hudson. Even today, Hudson holds the responsibility of curating every single subscription. What started in the back office of Bethany Beach Books is now packed by hand at their second location in West Fenwick Island, DE.

The mission of The Book Drop is to "spread the love of reading by exposing people to amazing books and incredible authors." Those at The Book Drop understand that we all have extremely busy lives, especially now, so the act of choosing a book to read can be overwhelming. They hope to solve that problem by delivering books right into your hands and providing you with a unique reading experience. While the prices aren't the cheapest around, you get the satisfaction of helping out a local independent bookstore.

You can visit Bethany Beach Books for a more extensive range of books, or visit The Book Drop at their headquarters in Selbyville where they package every order and have a mini bookstore. They are open Monday through Saturday from 10 AM-4 PM.
