SCALE strives to recognize the accomplishments and skills of practitioners working in agriculture, natural resource management (NRM), and alternative livelihoods-related activities around the world. Learn about two such initiatives showcasing practitioners who are creatively adapting their programming to respond to COVID-19 and facilitating events, trainings, and more with exceptional skill.

Creative Adaptation Award

As COVID-19 spread around the globe, humanitarians were forced to innovate how they deliver critical aid and programming. The SCALE Creative Adaptation Award highlights the most creative of these innovations from partners implementing USAID Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA)-funded emergency and development activities.

Four of the strongest adaptations from programs in the agriculture, NRM, and alternative livelihoods sectors are highlighted in our Creative Adaptation Award video, with the winning adaptation from the CARE-led Feed the Future Ethiopia - Livelihoods for Resilience Activity detailed in a Technical Brief. An Honorable Mentions gallery highlights other innovations worth sharing with the broader food security community.

Facilitators of the Year Initiative

The SCALE Facilitators of the Year Initiative recognizes and celebrates program staff who are facilitating agriculture, NRM, or alternative livelihoods-related activities around the world. These exceptional facilitators comprise the SCALE Facilitators of the Year 2020 Cohort (click here to access the French version).
