Dear fellow dancers

Although we had hoped to resume dancing in the first half of 2021 the impact of the new COVID variants and the resultant lockdown means that we cannot realistically plan indoor events and classes until much later in the year.
 
It's beginning to look unlikely that classes will resume before September. Whilst we have plans for a ‘big bang’ return to dancing with classes and the new season dance, this will be dependent upon the success of the vaccination programme.  Meanwhile we will continue to offer online events and will keep members up to date with news via the eUpdate, Website and The Reel. 

To start as we mean to go on, and following the success of the London Branch Christmas party, we are delighted to announce that the Branch will hold a virtual Burns Night from 5pm on Sunday 24 January.  The evening will feature music, poetry and dancing as well as vintage videos from ceilidhs past plus all the traditional Burns features, including the Address to a Haggis, the Immortal Memory, Toast to the Lassies and the Lassies’ Response.

As for the Christmas party, the Zoom chat function will be open throughout and we’ll keep it open for 30 minutes after the end of the party to allow extras time for conversations with dancing friends.

To keep things simple we're using the same webinar link as we used for the AGM and for the Christmas party.  Click on this link on 24 January, bring your own haggis and join us for a joyful evening of music, dance and good company.  

Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the Branch members' survey.  We had an excellent respond and are working on analysis now. We'll include an initial report in the forthcoming edition of The Reel and further information and actions as the year progresses.
