Powder Horn 2021!

We are so excited to have TWO Powder Horn courses in 2021! This is a national high adventure immersion course designed to get you the tools and experience needed to facilitate high adventure for your unit. These will also be cluster courses, meaning that we are joining forces with neighboring councils to staff, develop and market them!

What is Powder Horn? | Powder Horn is a co-ed course designed to introduce Scouting's youth and adult leaders to exciting high adventure possibilities for your unit. This program provides you the contacts and tools necessary to conduct an awesome high-adventure program in your own unit. Participants will sample 12 plus adventure experiences taught by local experts.

Who Can Attend? | Registration is open to everyone. Youth must be 14 years of age by the time of the course (or be 13 and have completed 8th grade) and be registered with a Scout BSA troop, Venturing Crew, Explorer Post, or Sea Scout Ship.

Why Go to Powder Horn? | Powder Horn is a high adventure, hands-on immersion course that will get you inspired to lead and introduce new opportunities to your troops, ships, posts, and crews. After completing the course you will have the experience and tools needed to begin to facilitate high adventure for your unit. You will also make great program resource contacts that you can follow-up with when you are ready to make that happen in your unit!

When Is Powder Horn? | Due to high demand, we have two course options this time!
  • Two 3-day Weekends: August 20-22 and 27-29, 2021
  • Weeklong: August 22-28, 2021

Where Will Powder Horn Be? | These courses will take place in two different council camps, splitting time between Chief Seattle Council’s Camp Pigott and Cascade Pacific Council’s Camp Baldwin.
