COVID-19: Movement Mondays

Happy Movement Monday!  Kelsey Haugen, a research assistant on our team, has put together this week’s tips on how to stay active while in self-isolation with your loved one with Down syndrome.  Keep up the great work!

1.   Ben's Tip

Ben Majewski, our team's Self Advocate, recommends Special Olympics of Massachusetts (SOMA), which offers a free workout series.  They offer nutrition tips, daily wellness goals, and exercise videos to encourage staying fit and active at home.  Ben does his indoor workout everyday at 10am with his roommates or by himself.

2.   Check out pages 13-17 in our social story Living a Healthier Lifestyle to discover more         ways to make exercise fun!  This is a great activity for you and your loved one with               Down syndrome to help identify strategies on how to meet fitness goals.
