A PRAYER FOR SAFETY FOR OUR NATION
AND THE INAUGURATION

Following the armed insurrection in our nation's capital on Wednesday and in the uncertainty of the remaining days leading to the inauguration of a new administration, let us pray for our nation.

God of love and peace, watch over our nation in these troubled days. Calm the anger of those who would do harm; restrain extremists planning violent uprisings; give courage to those in our national capital and state capitals charged with keeping the peace; protect our President-elect  Joseph and Vice President-elect Kamala and all involved in their inauguration from any danger; and in the days to come give our leaders wisdom in leading our nation toward a new era of justice and peace, through Jesus Christ our Lord, the light of the world and the prince of peace. Amen.

SERVICE AND ADVOCACY
IN COMMUNITY AND WORLD
SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES IN THIS TIME OF PANDEMIC
Even while sheltering at home, we can continue to serve the community around us by helping organizations helping others: Food Banks, Homeless Shelters, Blood Banks, Animal Shelters. Donations and volunteers for various tasks (such as fostering a homeless pet in your home) are needed. Contact any service provider first by phone or website for guidance on the best ways to help and donate.

LOCAL FOOD BANKS NEED OUR HELP - There is unprecedented need for food among our neighbors due to the economic impact of the pandemic. Food Banks are stretched to the limit. Can you make a contribution to Emergency Food Network (which distributes food to food banks), or to Nourish Food Banks of Pierce County? Click on the links to donate.
