Good news! Chef's Market is extended to the end of January. All the action is still located at 300 S First St. in downtown San Jose. For every meal you order for yourself, a meal is donated to someone in need through San Jose Ship Kits/Hunger at Home.
You can order from any (or all) of the restaurants listed and pick up with touchless delivery at the South First drive-thru. Runs daily from 11 am - 6 pm. Order now.

Arts - ICA Social Club & SJMQT Textile Talks

Outdoor Activities - Downtown Lights & Illuminations

This is the last week to see downtown building illuminations and video projections along First Street from the SoFA District to the Historic District. Don't miss out on seeing buildings glowing and bringing a warm, hopeful wave of color throughout downtown streets. The projections run nightly until Jan. 17 from 6 - 9:30 pm on weekdays and until 10 pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Other Essentials - Get a Discount on Your Electricity Bill
|

Here's how you can save some money this month. If you're receiving lower wages or lost your job due to COVID-19, you may qualify for a discount on your electricity bill. The California Alternate Rates for Energy Program (CARE) offers a monthly discount of 30-35% on electricity and 20% on gas. The Family Electric Rate Assistance Program (FERA) offers a monthly discount of 18% on electricity for households of 3+ people. Groundwerx crews risk their lives every day to keep downtown clean, safe, friendly and lively. They do graffiti removal, pressure-washing, trash removal, biohazard cleanup, safety escorts and more. Without them, our downtown wouldn't be the place we know and love.
This month, we're putting the spotlight on Mirko Veraja!

San Jose Love Stories - Thank You, Elyse Restaurant
|

|
San Jose Love Stories highlight acts of kindness by our community for our community. Elyse Restaurant has already given so much to our downtown community, in terms of support, acts of kindness and delicious food. With the help of our community, Elyse has donated 4500 meals to families in need since Thanksgiving.
If you or someone you know is in need of food, Elyse is distributing 1000 meals on Sunday, Jan. 17 from 2-3 pm at 151 S Second Street. Enjoy a helping of chicken fettuccini and chicken wild rice soup to keep you warm.
If you'd like to be a part of this community act of love, you can reach out to Elyse to help distribute meals. Also, you can let Elyse know of any shelters, churches or families in need of a meal.
