Attention Advertisers:
BWD Marketing Opportunities
A Letter to Advertisers asnd Marketing Partners from BWD

Dear Advertising Partner,

Hitting mailboxes in mid-Feb, the March/April Bird Watcher's Digest is perennially one of our most thoroughly read issues. Birders in the northern hemisphere are already planning for spring migration. Most of them have cabin fever and are eager resume traveling to see great birds. They are antsy! Feed their dreams!

In 2021, more people will attend virtual festivals. Many will also be birding and traveling independently. Because of that, this is a great time to reach individuals with information about products, destinations, and travel. Our magazine continues to trend at a 20+ year subscription high. Why does this matter? It means that YOUR message will hit more people per issue right now than it has in more than two decades.

Bottom line: Our loyal audience is one that loves and responds to print advertising.

AD RESERVATION DEADLINE for the March/April 2021 issue is
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 13TH

MATERIALS DEADLINE is
MONDAY, JANUARY 18TH

We strongly encourage you to consider adverting in our March/April issue, which is certain to be one of the best issues of 2021:
  • This issue's Spotlight column will focus on Massachusetts.
  • The Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia, is our Far Afield destination.
  • A story about visiting Christmas Mountains Oasis, just north of Big Bend National Park, in West Texas, in search of a rare hummingbird. Note: This story will run in the digital edition only.
  • "A New Mexico Surprise" is about a birding adventure near Carnuel, just east of Albuquerque, and includes mention of great birding in the Sandia Mountains.
  • A story about a kindergarten teacher in Armour, South Dakota, whose students are eager to learn about birds.
  • The Identify Yourself column is "Getting Ready for Warblers," which is sure to rev the pent-up engines of birders. "Warbly" destinations and events would be wise to promote themselves!
  • A story by beloved columnist Julie Zickefoose is set in Barrington, Rhode Island, and describes the rare and exciting birds she enjoyed there.
  • The Quick Takes column wishes a happy 75th birthday to Laguna Atascosa NWR in South Texas
  • In the Birders Question Mark column, Mark Garland answers the question; "How are bird tour companies handling the pandemic?" His answer will encourage readers to book a birding tour as soon as attendees feel safe to do so.
  • Beloved Migrations columnist Scott Weidensaul writes about learning to adapt to a new backyard ecosystem and wildlife after his recent move to southern New Hampshire
