Nessy Notes:
Right now, even in the mechanisms needed to read these words, your body is busily playing out a billion little magic tricks. The fact that we don’t have to consciously tell our heart to beat, skin to shed, lungs to breath, liver to detox or muscles to do their dance of moving us around is nothing short of a miracle.   
 

So much of anxiety is rooted in the fear, often unconscious, that we will die.. and the truth is, we will, but most likely not in the next sixty seconds, which is the only time that fight or flight kind of fear is helpful. In this moment your heart is beating and vital energy is pulsing strongly through you! So let’s celebrate life. Your life. Right at this moment.  

Today, focus on specific clues pointing toward your vitality. Usually, when things are going well in our body, there’s no reason to notice it, so we must be intentional. Throughout the day play with tuning into the ways you are easily moving, digesting, breathing and experiencing life through all the senses you have available in the life that is you. Pause, notice and offer thanks for the marvelous phenomenon that is your body.

Embodied Exercise:
Get into a comfortable position and place your fingers somewhere on your body that you can easily feel your heartbeat. Once you can feel your pulse, close your eyes, slow down your breath and simply count the beats until you get to 100. 

Centering Prayer: 
I Am Embodied.

Meditation Practice:
Get in an upright, supported position and follow your breath and/or prayer repetition for five minutes (or longer). When you notice thoughts, compassionately return to your focus.
