Sagamore Hills Elementary Families:
The DeKalb County School District (DCSD) will begin phasing in the regular DCSD instructional schedule for all schools as listed in Infinite Campus. The transition to the regular DCSD schedule is to consistently allow for more instructional time for all students. All teachers and students will be expected to begin implementing the regular daily schedule on January 19, 2021.
Implementation Schedule for Sagamore Hills Elementary School:
Grades K-5
Instructional day begins at 7:45AM – Homeroom and Morning Announcements
Instructional Core Content begins at 8:00 AM
Instructional day ends at 2:20 PM
Synchronous Time Frame (LIVE INSTRUCTION)
- PreK - 1 hour to 1 ½ hours per day per DECAL
- Grades K-2 – Minimum of 15 minutes per course
- Grades 3-5 – Minimum of 20 minutes per course
- All teachers will send communication of the revised class schedule via email by Friday, 1/15.
- Specials are on a Two-Week Rotation. Next week (1/19 - 1/22) is a RED WEEK ROTATION!
- 1/19 - Distance Learning Day - Refer to Revised Class Schedule
- For this week only: Tuesday (1/19), students will follow the Monday's Specials Schedule - RED WEEK ROTATION!
- 1/20 - Distance Learning Day - School is in Session. (This is not an Independent Learning Day)
- For this week only: Wednesday (1/20), students will follow the Tuesday 's Specials Schedule - RED WEEK ROTATION!
CHANGES:
- Curbside Library Book services will be available only on Thursdays beginning the week of January 19th. Please check the Sagamore Elementary Website Media Center Tab- Curbside for directions on placing holds, picking up books, and updated information.

As we embark on the 2 nd semester of this school year, Sagamore Hills Faculty/Staff members are grateful to our parents, guardians, and caregivers for your daily support during the 1 st Semester. We anticipate a successful ending to our school year. Please email your child’s teacher if you have any questions about the full-day schedule that will be sent in their weekly communication.

Be Heard! Sagamore Hills Virtual Suggestion Box
The PTA has created and is monitoring a virtual suggestion box for your comments, ideas, suggestions, or questions. This is an anonymous form, or you can optionally leave your name if you'd like direct follow-up. The PTA will route your comment to the appropriate staff members at Sagamore or handle it directly.

Sagamore Hills is using Membership Toolkit for our online directory and school store for the 2020-2021 school year. Please click on "Membership Toolkit" to confirm your family's contact information and make your online purchases. A folder is required for Kindergarten students. A folder/agenda combo is required for 1st-5th grade students. These purchases, as well as yearbooks from the 2019-2020 school year, will be distributed soon. Teachers will encourage students to use their agendas with virtual learning.
