New Heat Pump Technologies to the Rescue

An overview of four new technologies: an integrated/matched air to water heat pump system that can directly provide space and water heating to hydronic buildings; a packaged heat pump that mounts on the inside of an exterior wall with a small duct penetration to the outside; a mini-split, meeting NEEP cold climate criteria, that fits within a PTAC sleeve and connects to a wall-mounted air handler; and a new DIY-installed window-mounted inverter-driven high efficiency heat pump.

An online introductory course on Passive House Essentials. Participants will learn about the 5 basic Passive House principles, occupant benefits, major Passive House tools, delivered all through the lens of relevant case studies.

Begins January 27

Live-Online. Core Passive House training appropriate for a wide range of building professionals and stakeholders that want to know the guts of what makes Passive House tick and build a foundation of knowledge to integrate Passive House to meet your personal goals.

PHIUS Certified Passive House Builder 

Begins February 22

The PHIUS CPHB training program prepares construction professionals to meet the passive house challenge.  Topics range from design theory and climate-specific detailing to materials, techniques, project management, and quality assurance.

Phase I: An 8-hour online prep course completed prior to the Phase II training
Phase II: Live instruction for 8 days, online delivery, 3 hours per day over two weeks
CEUs: 32.5 CPHC / 32.5 AIA HSW / 12.75 BPI

PHIUS Certified Passive House Consultant 

Next Phase II Begins March 1

Learn to design to the PHIUS+ climate-specific building standard.

Phase I -- Online self-paced: Pre-recorded videos and modules featuring experienced PHIUS instructors; comprising about 35-40 hours of learning material. Complete prior to the Phase II training.
Phase II -- Online Live: Design exercises, and WUFI Passive and THERM software training, 3 hours per day over two weeks
