The Institute for Global Health is pleased to share a new call for applications to supporting member faculty projects focused on improving Primary Care services and systems throughout the world.
As defined by the World Health Organization, primary health care is people rather than disease focused care that includes health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and palliative care. A primary health care approach includes three components:
- meeting people’s health needs throughout their lives;
- addressing the broader determinants of health through multisectoral policy and action; and
- empowering individuals, families and communities to take charge of their own health.
The Global Health Research Catalyzer and Project Awards are supported by the Feinberg School of Medicine’s Global Health Initiative, which is generously supported by Northwestern Medicine Primary & Specialty Care, its patients, and Feinberg’s donors.
The deadline to apply is February 1, 2021 by 5 p.m. CST.
