We Open Doors to...Library Lovers Month Books
Every month we bring you suggested books to inspire your next read! Recommendations are brought to you by librarian Molly Wetta.

February is Library Lovers’ Month, and since we know all of you love the library, our featured books recommendations are all about libraries.
The Lions of 5th Avenue
by Fiona Davis

Davis beautifully evokes the magic of the New York Public Library in this historical mystery with dual timelines. In 1913, the wife of the superintendent of the Manhattan landmark library pursues a career as a journalist and contributes to the burgeoning feminist and suffragist movement. In 1993, her descendants are still entwined in the library, now as a curator of rare books. When valuable books in the archive go missing, the mystery of the missing volumes amps up. For fans of Paula McClain and stories of family secrets.
The Midnight Library
by Matt Haig

All of us have probably wondered what our lives would have turned out like if we’d made a different decision somewhere along the way. In Haig’s latest book, a woman with many regrets has the chance to read the story of what her life might have been in the “midnight library” and comes to realize what makes life worth living. Despite exploring the dark topics, Haig’s novel is a whimsical and uplifting novel about finding joy and purpose in life.
Dreamers
by Yuyi Morales

There is little more inspiring than introducing the power of libraries to children. While there are many picture books that feature libraries, two favorites are Dreamers by Yuyi Morales, which documents the author-illustrators experiencing as an immigrant in America, including taking her young child to the library. The gorgeous illustrations and moving story of the magic found in a neighborhood library never fail to bring a tear to my eye.

Note from Lauren Trujillo, Foundation Director
Thank you for your continued support for our Santa Barbara Public Library and community.

While I miss the day to day activity of the Santa Barbara Public Library, I am reminded that the Library has always been a place of change and growth. From its online services to the now available Grab n' Go services, the Library is providing thousands of patrons with free access to much-needed tools, information, and of course, books.

The public library remains a place where all are welcome!
