Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Council has returned from recess and committee meetings are resuming. I will have a more full update on Council actions soon, but wanted to take this opportunity to let you know the application portal for hospitality worker relief has gone live.

Workers who live in Seattle, work currently or recently in hospitality, and earn at or below 60% AMI are eligible for relief under this City fund. A helpful FAQ guide providing more information can be found here.

At the start of COVID hospitality workers were among the first to lose their jobs and will be among the last to return to work. I am proud to have voted for this emergency relief to provide much needed support to front-line workers in this hard hit industry. I also realize as helpful as it is it remains insufficient to meet the total need. It is my hope that more federal relief is on the horizon with the incoming congress and President-Elect Joe Biden.

Relief for small businesses, renters, and worker will continue to be a top priority for my office. Please feel free to reach out with any questions about this fund.

Regards,
Councilmember Andrew J. Lewis
