First Weekly of 2021: Jackbox games!

Aaaannd we're back!

Happy New Year fellow weebs and welcome back to another semester here at UBC! We hope you all had a safe and restful Winter break.

Although the global pandemic continues to postpone our in-person plans and activities, we here at UBCAni continue to strive to provide our members with pleasant experiences and ample opportunities to meet and mingle virtually through our Discord community. As such, for our first weekly online activity of the year, join us for a night of frivolous fun as we play rounds of a club classic: Jackbox Games! Kick off your weekend by competing and laughing along with fellow weebs in a series of short and silly online games from Jackbox. For more information about these games and how to join them, check out our Discord's #announcements channel or our Facebook group and join the events role! We host our weekly online activities via Discord every Friday from 5 PM onwards.

UBCAni x PRINT Collab Art Contest

UBC Anime Club and PRINT Arts and Crafts present our collab finale art contest! We're holding a contest for club members to show off their skills and enter for a chance to win prizes.

𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄: Contest deadline extended to Jan. 25th, judging/voting will be on Jan. 26th

There will be a few different categories for the contest:

𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐨𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫/𝐅𝐚𝐧 𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞: For this category we will have publicly open voting for which submission people like the most

𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩: This category is based upon which submission the judges think used the most elements from each workshop

𝟐𝐃 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚: This one is for whichever 2d created type of piece the judges think is best (ex. a drawn piece of art or a painting)

𝟑𝐃 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚: This category is for what piece of 3d art piece the judges think is best (ex. a sculpture or craft)

𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐙𝐄𝐒

For the winner of our 𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐨𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫/𝐅𝐚𝐧 𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 we will be giving away a 𝐇𝐮𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐓𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐭 valued at $80.
For our 𝟐𝐃 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚 prize we have an 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭 from the Ufotable Cafe in Tokyo valued at over $50 USD.
For the 𝟑𝐃 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚 category we have an 𝐀𝐬𝐮𝐤𝐚 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐞 from Neon Genesis Evangelion.
And lastly, for the 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 category we have an 𝟖𝟎-𝐩𝐢𝐞𝐜𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐭!
