Community Welcome Event

We’re excited to welcome seven founders to join our Spring 2021 Accelerator cohort! These diverse, motivated entrepreneurs are creating innovative solutions within the circular economy, expanding compost capacity within the region, reducing the carbon footprint of online fashion sales, increasing access to fresh and healthy foods and beverages, and developing distributed ledger technology to incentivize responsible purchasing.

Check out our two upcoming Sustainability Series discussions on:

  1. New Composting Legislation - Join us Thursday, January 28th to hear from Councilmember Glass and Councilmember Friedson on how farms, small businesses, and the community can benefit from Montgomery County's new Zoning Text Amendment 20-04.
  2. Biking in Bethesda - Are you a cyclist in Montgomery County? Join us Thursday, February 4th for a discussion on the upgrades and improvements for cyclists in downtown Bethesda.

Meet Environmental Leader Meera Shroff

Bethesda Green’s Environmental Leaders Program is an experiential school-year long sustainability program targeting high school students in their senior year currently offered for Montgomery County high schools. The training focuses on environmental stewardship and community engagement with local organizations and businesses.

Meera is a Walt Whitman High School Senior. She is committed to combating the broad, daunting issue of climate change and its environmental repercussions.
