Nicole Krauss has been hailed by the New York Times as ‘one of America’s most important novelists’. She has been shortlisted multiple times for major literary awards. Her four novels Man Walks Into a Room (2002), twice Orange Prize-shortlisted The History of Love (2005) and Great House (2010), also a finalist for the National Book Award, and Forest Dark (2017), have been translated into 37 languages. Her fiction has been published in The New Yorker, Harper’s, Esquire, Granta’s Best American Novelists Under 40, and has been included in Best American Short Stories 2003, 2008 and 2019. To Be a Man: Stories, published in November 2020, is her most recent book.

Tali Lavi is a writer and critic (Australian Book Review, The Monthly, Magpies, Sydney Review of Books). She has interviewed writers for Melbourne Jewish Book Week, Melbourne Writers Festival, Adelaide Writers’ Week and Sydney Jewish Writers Festival. Tali has an MA in Creative Writing (RMIT University). She is former Program Co-Manager for Melbourne Jewish Book Week.
