Treat your skin to some good old fashion pampering. Homemade bath balms (6), lotion bars (2) and a facial mask is just what your skin needs to push all the winter dryness away.

Road to Mental Readiness: Phase III – Pre Deployment Workshop 
A mental health workshop specifically for families preparing for a deployment. Why is it one minute you can’t stand the thought of your loved one leaving and the next minute you’re kicking them out the door? We will discuss mental health as a continuum, the effects stress can have on a person’s wellness and provide you tools for healthy coping. Families are encouraged to take this workshop prior to their loved one leaving. Schedule a virtual one-on-one session at your convenience by contacting shilomfrc.ak@outlook.com


Road to Mental Readiness: Phase V - Reunion & Reintegration Workshop 
Recognizes the challenges you experienced throughout your separation and celebrates your successes. Are both excited and nervous for your loved one to come home? by credit card or at the MFRC by debit or credit card. 
Please remember that in order for your registration to be complete, payment must be made by the program registration deadline - if not, the registrant will be removed from the program.

Home Alone
Is your child ready to stay home alone? The Home Alone Safety for Kids program helps children and their families get ready for their child’s first steps towards independence and being without adult supervision for short periods of time.
 
This safety program is ideally suited for children aged 9-12 years old. Safety and accident prevention are the common themes throughout the program. The information is relevant and current to today’s young learners. 
Course content includes:
  • Street smarts and bike safety
  • People safety (“Tricky People” and Safe strangers)
  • Online and internet safety
  • Snacking and kitchen safety
  • Home fire safety
  • Sibling rivalry
  • Preventing accidents
  • How to handle emergencies and other situations
  • Basic first aid skills
The unique delivery model of our Home Alone Safety for Kids program reaches children of all learning-types. Innovative digital and traditional gaming techniques provide a fun and positive learning environment. Engaged participants learn valuable life skills to help them make safer choices when on their own.

Preschool Program Video Series

As we enter the New Year we are excited to continue to provide our Preschool Program Video Series. This month we will be featuring our Winter activities and of course adding a little extra for Valentine's day.

Videos will be posted Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on the
Shilo MFRC Facebook page and will feature activities you can do with materials found in your own home.

Make sure you post a picture or video of your finished product in the comments to be entered to win a weekly draw. The more projects you complete and post the more times your name will be entered in our weekly draws.

One-on-One Self Care Workshops
Available to ALL community members - Available upon request 
If you are struggling to work self care into your new schedule, or would just like some tips and tricks, you can book a virtual appointment for one-on-one support and planning with the VFPC. After reviewing some self care strategies and exploring what self care looks like for you, you will be able to complete your very own self care plan. Self care is so important for fostering resilience and managing stress.
