Hi <<First Name>>,

Happy New Year to you! I hope that 2021 brings you a year of good health and much happiness.

Please note the details of how you can bowl at Mowbray over the next few weeks.

WP Competitions have been completely reshuffled, with league only scheduled to start in March, and the Mixed Pairs and Pairs competitions being brought forward to January. Please see all the details below.

Stay healthy!

Bowling at Mowbray

Basic Safety Precautions
  • Wear your mask - including while you are bowling
  • Bring your own sanitiser - and use it on every end
  • Keep your distance from everyone else
  • Stay out of the Clubhouse unless it is to use the toilets
  • "Gatherings" are against the law - so you may not congregate in groups

Refreshments
The bar is obviously closed, but you can purchase cooldrinks, energy drinks, etc from Mwiza. He will note what you take and you will be billed for it at a later stage. We won't be taking any cash at the Club.

Opening Hours
  • The Club will be open from 13:15 to 19:00 from Tuesday to Saturday
  • Please organise games before arriving at the Club - you cannot hang around the Club waiting for a game
  • Peter, Richard or Dave may assist with this on Saturday.

WP Pairs

The Western Province Pairs competitions will take place on the weekends of 30/31 January and 13/14 February 2021. There are separate competitions for Men and Women.

Entries close on Monday 11 January.

If you wish to enter a team, please submit your team names to Tria.

We would like to make a special appeal to every member to please spread the word about Personal Trust to everyone you know.

WP Competitions – Mixed Pairs and Pairs

In terms of the new Level 3 restrictions that have been introduced, the WP Pairs and Mixed Pairs competitions are still able to be held, subject to some changes in the Conditions of Play and necessary health precautions.

All bowlers are encouraged to visit wpbowls.co.za/covid-19/ to ensure they are up to date with any changes to the regulations.

Withdrawals

If anyone who has already entered the Mixed Pairs competition wishes to withdraw, they will not be penalised for doing so, as long as the withdrawal is received by 7 January 2021.

WP Bowls will decide whether or not to amend the draw based on withdrawals received by that date.
