Dear Friends-
Save the date! We will launch the New Year together, with a special program of young and elder singers--honoring the "old" and celebrating the "new".
WELCOME to all the new people who joined us for our festive and highly energizing New Years Eve Singing! Hope to see you again.
I'm keeping this short, because today I'll be spending time with the Georgie Working Families Party, calling Democratic voters to make sure they have everything they need to VOTE, and flip the Senate.
I think we all know what is at stake in this Senatorial race runoff. If you have time and energy to add your efforts to the massive work being done on the ground, you can text and phone bank, and donate to grassroots, local groups doing the heavy lifting.
Volunteer opportunities:
•Swing Left https://www.mobilize.us/swingleft/?tag_ids=428
•Black Lives Matter blacklivesmatterpac.vote
Grassroots groups I'm donating to:
By Thursday, I anticipate we will be experiencing some post-election chaos as the usual suspects cry fraud, and so forth--but we will sing on, undaunted!
It'll be a great night to sing songs from past movements that many of us have been part of, and to be inspired by younger visionary voices.

DONATIONS UPDATE
I am excited and grateful to tell you that together we raised 650$ for the blankets project in Bodghaya India.
You can read the fuller story, below.
THANK YOU, generous, good hearted friends.
This week's donations will go to the young activist/singers who will bless us with their songs, energy, and visions. Most of us are elders in this singing community, and we know what young people are facing. They deserve our gratitude and support!
Please give generously as you are able.
Through PAYPAL, or by check to
Betsy Rose, PO Box 9538, Berkeley CA 94709
Recent donations have been earmarked for my friend Ranjan Kumar, from Bodghaya, India, where the Buddha sat under the Bo tree and became enlightened.
Ranjan, a former street kid selling maps to tourists near the many sacred sites, has started his own school for young people from his village. For the past four weeks, in freezing weather, he and friends have gone into the streets of Bodghaya, distributing blankets and warm sweaters to the many homeless people out in the cold. The tourist industry which supported small merchants, vendors, and street kids has been ravaged by COVID. See photos.
