Happy New Year!
Joyeuse Nouvelle Annee!

January is a pivotal time when we may slow down to reflect on our experiences of last year, what we’ve learned and what we’re leaving behind. Many of us are hopeful for a stronger, healthier, more positive 2021.

I hope we can each also see the power that each of us has to create a new memory, a laugh, a gift, a good time, an impression, an opportunity, an impactful change for ourselves and others.

We took a chance during the last half of 2020 to move the YWCA back into heart of Bracebridge at the same time as we were adapting several youth and women’s programs to virtual, getting better at working remotely ourselves, providing families with financial relief, and signing a new agreement with the United Way of Simcoe Muskoka for a larger Circles Muskoka collective project.

Thank you for cheering us on through all the change!

In 2021 we resume and launch new virtual programs like Women Transforming and Women in Business for women, the Youth Council, Girlz Unplugged, Quest for youth, Start in Art and Lets Get Digital for seniors and Getting Ahead and Circles for those living on low income in Muskoka.

We are buoyed up by a fresh new year and the energy and resilience we can draw on right now. I’m sure you’ll be amazed to see what’s coming up!

YOUTH PROGRAMS
This fall we successfully launched in-school virtual programs at KP Manson, BMLSS, HHS and MMO and offered three virtual, after school programs for girls and boys.

YWCA Muskoka will launch another set of youth programs in February.

Stay tuned for more details!
CIRCLES® MUSKOKA
Thanks to your generosity and commitment to women & girls in Muskoka, we surpassed our year-end campaign fundraising goal!

These funds will grow our programming and initiatives throughout
2021 - all designed to build economic resilience and social support for local women.

Since April, YWCA Muskoka has supported 61 families with direct financial aid to assist in needs ranging from food, children’s outdoor play equipment, basic bills and winter clothes, to moving costs for those leaving domestic violence. Those requests are still coming in and donations like yours means we never have to turn women and their families away.

THANK YOU!
