State Support Team Region 11 Recognition at
2020 OLAC & PBIS Showcase

The Ohio PBIS Showcase partnered this year with the Ohio Leadership Advisory Council’s Action Forum to host a Leading & Learning Together event.
The Ohio PBIS Network and State Support Teams identify districts and schools that exemplify best practices in the implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). PBIS Award level districts and schools do a superior job of enhancing their school climate and culture in supports of students and their academic achievements. They recognize that improvement in student behavior and achievement requires changes in adult behavior and in school systems.

Being recognized by the state as successfully implementing PBIS with fidelity and sharing it with stakeholders lays the foundation for sustainability.

PBIS Award level districts have easily identifiable characteristics and are consistent in their methods of: 1) maintaining a District level planning team, 2) systematically collecting, reviewing and applying data using a problem-solving process examination of data at the district level, and 3) supporting PBIS implementation at the building level through professional development and coaching supports, and 4) maintaining a certain percentage of their buildings achieving an award.

Ohio recognizes school buildings at three different levels utilizing the School Wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports Tiered Fidelity Inventory which is a valid and reliable instrument to measure implementation and sustainability of School Wide PBIS.

  • Bronze: Document evidence of a comprehensive system of behavioral supports at Tier 1 with a TFI score of at least 70%
  • Silver: Meet all characteristics of the Bronze level and implement Tier 2 supports with a TFI score of at least 70%
  • Gold: Meet all characteristics of Bronze and Silver level and also implement Tier 3 supports with a TFI score of at least 70%

State Support Team Region 11 recognized 1 district and 51 buildings in 9 districts, for the 2019-2020 school year.
