Have you done your requal?

Remember no requal means no patrol or water safety this includes NRC.

Firstly I would like to thank you all so much for volunteering and patrolling thus far this season, unfortunately now we have come to the point where if you have not completed your requal by 31 December 2020, you are unable to patrol from now until you do your requal. Please let your patrol captains and Jessica at the office know ASAP.

The beach committee is made of volunteers and I thought we would take the time to let everyone know their positions and responsibility.

We thought it would be good to let all members know who is on the beach committee and what they are responsible for in no particular order.

Leif Hinrichsen - Everything Lifesaving and anything to do with patrols and rostering.

Stephen Thomas - Everything to do with Education including personnel and training courses.

Many of us have had a difficult year this year with illness, loss, uncertain employment, and isolation due to COVID-19. Life has its ups and downs and we will now appreciate the good times even more hopefully better times are just around the corner. For now please be safe and take care of yourselves to make 2021 a very special year.

Wishing you all and your families a happy and prosperous new year!

See you at the beach!

Woodside Nippers

Happy new year to all our Sorrento Nippers and their families! Fingers crossed it’s a prosperous and enjoyable year for you all.

This weekend we jump right back into it with our U10 to U13 nippers competing at the Trigg carnival. Good luck to all those wearing the mighty Sorrento Cap this weekend and remember to have a crack and enjoy the experience.

For those nippers not wishing to compete, your age managers have organized normal nippers sessions back at Sorrento. Please go to your age group flag for the normal start time.

Our U8 and U9 Little Nippers will be competing in the second round of club champs this weekend remembering these are run for all our nippers to have a go and test themselves. Results are never the main objective, having a go is key.

Training is back on with the beach starting back on Friday on the beach. I thank Bill and his assistants who kept Board and Iron sessions going over the break for those nippers who still wanted to train super effort!

With the hot weather forecasts for the next few days, can I remind all nippers and families to slip, slop, slap, seek, slide and sip over the week and weekend please attend training sessions with personal water bottles.

We have a busy schedule ahead of us in juniors all I can say is bring it on!

See you on the beach!
