Me, unable to pop my bottle of Freixenet right at midnight because I just HAD to wear these press-on nails. Worth it. And, me being me, I have about 5 million ideas for what kind of Twitch shows/parties I wanna give y’all this year. Should I do weekly happy hours where y’all network and ki-ki in the chat box? That’s the direction I’m leaning towards. Each happy hour with a different theme, maybe? Giving you topics to discuss every ten minutes as I select background music? Am I answering my own question here? Maybe. Reply to this email and tell me what you’re thinking. I’m serious. We’ll start in February…

BTW I’M BACK ON MY PLAYLISTING SH*T

We ain’t nothin’ but mammals: animals on Discovery Channel hibernate in the winter and here we are as humans, doing the same. Considering the pandemic is at its worst right now, I know we’re all in our caves, patiently (or not!) waiting for when it’s safe to be “outside”.

Before capitalism as we know it today, people traditionally spent the winter times repairing things, creating things, making mead and wine, and writing. Personally, I can check three of those four boxes off right now. How about you? Whatever you’re up to, I’ve got a soundtrack for you. I spent some time crafting a hibernation playlist to get us through this winter. Pop tunes to dance to, electro tunes to create to, vintage tunes to reminisce to. I hope you like it.

SIREN STUFF

I mentioned last week that during my first Twitch stream, I would sing “Auld Lang Syne” for the first time EVER. My voice is rusty, and I’m singing a dead form of Old English, but I did it! I’ve never been one for resolutions but I’m feeling differently this year. We go through seasons in our career lives: I’ve always worked in the arts and entertainment, but never experienced a full season of being a working singer and actress. My resolution is to be all who I must be for this next season of life I’m in. Because right now is the first time I’ve felt rooted, grounded, and safe enough to give myself over to performance discipline full time.
