PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Dear Members & Supporters,

The passage of time is an interesting thing and really is somewhat arbitrary when you think about it. We are only a day older on our birthday than the day before, but we always think about it terms of a whole year, right? And even though Jan. 1 is just one day after Dec. 31, I haven’t been able to reconcile the feeling that 2021 is a brand new year ahead, full of possibilities.

I realize that things will not be drastically different for quite a while; however, I am incredibly excited about what is upcoming for JLP, including our ROCKETS Teacher Launch Virtual Seminar, General Membership Meetings with some amazing speakers,
virtual socials and fundraisers, ongoing member training, and of course supporting our community partners. We truly have a lot to look forward to.

Cheers to 2021 and what it will (hopefully) bring to all of us.

Fondly,
Jennie Elser
President 2020-2022

Saturday, Jan. 9 at 9:30 a.m.
Monday, Jan. 18 at 6:30 p.m.

Contact us for more information.

COMMUNITY NEWS
ROCKETS Teacher Launch will continue its partnership with CREATE at the Arizona Science Center for 2020-2021. We will host an entirely virtual seminar Saturday, Jan. 30. A virtual event opens up attendance to all educators throughout AZ and does not burden them with traveling to downtown Phoenix.

CREATE is launching a digital STEM platform soon with virtual STEM lessons, parent portal and plenty of curriculum to help educators navigate virtual instruction. We are grateful to JLPF for the grant this year so we can continue to impact educators and students throughout AZ.

Each team will have time over Zoom to privately discuss their answer to each question prior to submitting them in secret to the scorekeeper. Prizes will be available for the 3 top scoring teams at the end of the night! This is open to the public so feel free to invite your family, friends, and work colleagues!

Tickets:

Cost is $30 per TEAM (up to 6 people per team).

Or, buy a single player ticket for $5 to join a randomly assigned team and socialize during the game!
