The University of Memphis President's Report - Winter 2021
Within the past year, the University of Memphis community lost two of its dearest friends and most dedicated supporters — Rudi and Honey Scheidt. We honor their tremendous legacy in this edition of our University of Memphis President’s Report.
The significant and generous contributions the Scheidts made to the UofM will be felt for many generations to come. The 90,000-square-foot Scheidt Family Music Center is currently being constructed on our campus and will double the facility space available to the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music.
The Scheidts' impact went far beyond the University, extending to many areas within the arts in our local community. To recognize these efforts, the UofM created the Rudi and Honey Scheidt Community Impact Award. The initial recipients of this award are highlighted in this magazine.
We also celebrate the rise in UofM's rankings, both national and across the world, and award-winning efforts that include a community-enhancing program and a professor pushing innovation in her discipline.
We invite you to read about all of this and much more from the past year in this edition of the University of Memphis President’s Report.
