About the Event:
The IndoUSrare quarterly webinar series is an educational event designed to provide a platform for sharing scientific, policy, and advocacy topics related to rare diseases across the world. We plan to bring diverse speakers from various specialties and geographies tailored to the interests of rare disease communities.
In our latest webinar, guest speaker Dr. Jayesh Sheth, Ph.D., FICMHH, Chairman of the Foundation for Research In Genetics and Endocrinology (FRIGE) - Institute of Human Genetics, India, will speak about his work in rare disease diagnostics and research.
His talk is titled, "Finding Commonalities in Rare Diseases: The Indian Scenario"

Speaker Bio:
Dr. Jayesh Sheth, Ph.D., FICMCH, is the Founding Chairman, Foundation for Research In Genetics and Endocrinology (FRIGE)-Institute of Human Genetics
Dr. Sheth received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Bombay University in 1983. He served as an Honorary Associate Professor of Endocrinology and biochemistry at Sheth V. S. Hospital and NHL Medical College, Ahmedabad from 1989 to 2008. He initiated his work on rare disease genetics in 2001, with particular interest on lysosomal storage disorders, monogenic disorders, genomics of developmental disorders, and herbal drugs for degenerative and chronic diseases. Other research interests include thyroid and diabetes. He founded FRIGE in 2000 and has been building the diagnostic techniques while continuing his affiliation with Dr. Shah Pathology Laboratory and Endocrine Unit. He has one patent on I -cell screening to his credit.
He has to his name 132 publications in national and international journals and has been appointed to three National Task Forces by the Indian Council of Medical Research. He is a Fellow of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) Fellow and a Fellow of the Indian College of Mother and Child Health.
