Dear LCA Families,

What a joy it was to welcome our students back in on Tuesday, January 5! At LCA, we are a community that thrives on relationships and on the daily interactions that we have with our families and students. We have missed seeing our students in person each day, and we are extremely thankful that we have this opportunity once again! Looking ahead, we request your assistance in a number of ways.

First, we ask for your continued support and prayers. Without a doubt, we are back in school this week because of the steadfast prayers of our faithful families and constituents.

Second, to protect our community, it is crucial to have a strong, committed partnership with our families. We ask that our parents be diligent in regularly monitoring their children for symptoms of illness, keep any child exhibiting symptoms at home, and immediately notify the school of any suspected or confirmed illness. Before bringing your child to school each day, we are asking parents to conduct daily health screenings of their children. Parents should determine if their child has a fever over 100.4 degrees and/or two or more of the following symptoms:
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Chills
  • Diarrhea
  • Fatigue
  • Loss of smell or taste
Individuals with a fever or two or more of the symptoms noted above should remain at home and contact their Primary Care Physician (PCP). In addition, if you travel, we are asking families to follow Kentucky’s quarantine guidelines that can be found here.

By continuing to work together and by relying on the Lord’s guidance in all things including COVID, I am confident we will successfully navigate the unchartered waters ahead. Again, WELCOME BACK

As a reminder, LCA will observe Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, January 18 (no school/offices closed).

LCA families are invited to participate in the 2021 Holiday Freedom March in downtown Lexington, beginning that morning at 10am. Participants are encouraged to line up along High Street adjacent to the Central Bank Center (formally the Lexington Convention Center) in an orderly and physically distanced fashion, while wearing a mask. The entire event will be conducted outdoors and complimentary parking will be provided in the large Central Bank Center lot on High Street.

Participants can proceed from your vehicles directly to the march beginning at 10am. Because of safety for participants, downtown streets will begin closure at 9:45am through duration of the march.

The Freedom March route in the heart of downtown Lexington will be primarily the same as in previous years, with the exception of beginning on High Street at Central Bank Center and concluding at Triangle Park.
