Saturday at the Roundhouse

                                                January 9th
Are you well rested from a couple of weeks of inactivity and anxious to leave the boredom of the Covid mandated closures behind? Join us at the roundhouse this Saturday and help us get back on track in completing a few projects and get started on some new ones.
Saturday, our first order of business is to take down the Christmas decorations, inside and out, and put them back in the storage container.
If we have enough help, volunteers will continue working on the re-organization of the stall 4/5 area. We need to move some shelving in order to access 4070's connecting rods and then move them to the warehouse. There is still shelving and parts to organize in the warehouse. We do have torpedo heaters to warm the building if the cold temperatures persist.
Work continues on 4070's cab. The new steel panels need to be finish welded and the roof repairs completed so the cab can be sandblasted and painted. When that is finished, new tongue and groove wood can be installed in the interior and the windows can be repaired and re-installed.
The bricks in the turntable pit need to sorted and stacked so we can reset them in the spring after the ground has settled.
The America car still has a list of small jobs that need to get done.  Some require skills and some are as simple as polishing brass railings. Check the written list posted on the side of the car and see where you might help out.
Have a preference for office work?  We still need help with the gift shop, reconciling inventory and planning for next season.
The RPCA convention committee is looking for volunteers to help out.  They need help with phone canvasing, reservations, planning visitor gifts and preparing a presentation that will be presented at this year's conference.

The roundhouse is a safe and compliant place to work and interface with others. Masks are rquired. Common areas are continually being sanitized for our safety.
