The Anah Shriners will be meeting with a very special young man this Friday January 8, 2021 at 4:30PM. Cooper Wren will be stopping by to present a donation to the Shriners Hospital for Children - Boston.

You are invited to attend! We will be adhering to the state mandated policies, spacewill be limited to 50 people, or the presentation may be held outside.

Bangor, Maine - Cooper is a 12-year-old boy from Thorndike, who spends most of his summer weekends at dirt bike tracks due to his younger brother's involvement with racing. Cooper and his family have been in the racing scene since 2016, which is when Cooper started selling lemonade and cookies at Back40MX in Norridgewock to help pass the time while his brother raced.
Over the last 5 years Cooper’s little lemonade stand at the track has grown tremendously.
Cooper began by selling his lemonade and cookies from under an ez-up tent and then in 2018, track owner Randy Simpson provided Cooper with his very own building which is now known as “Cooper’s Snack Shack”.
Cooper has also added more variety to his shack such as snow cones (#1 seller), candy and 5-6 kinds of homemade cookies, Cooper even offers his very own homemade whoopie pies (almost as popular as snow cones), as well as brownies, unsweet tea and giant pickles.
Cooper takes pride in making sure that everyone can afford snacks from his shack so he sells everything for $1.00 or less.
Each year Cooper chooses a different organization to donate proceeds to at the end of the race season. Cooper says he donated to different organizations because it makes him feel good to help others.
In a typical summer the Back40 has a total of 10 races. However, due to COVID-19, race season was cut short and Cooper was only able to work 4 races.
That didn't stop Cooper. He still raised $1,500.00 to donate to Shriners Hospital for Children - Boston Burn Unit.
Cooper is very fortunate that Randy and Jess Simpson from Back40MX support him and his mission to help others.
Cooper is especially grateful for the support of the race families that buy from him each and every race, because without them none of this would be possible.
Cooper has grown a lot throughout this journey and has definitely found his place at the track.
