Join us THIS Friday January 8 at 11am for "A Case Study of the Boston Urban Forest Coalition (BUFC) "

Join the Boston Urban Forest Friends for our first meeting of 2021!

We'll be joined by Andrew Petit de Mange to reflect on the history of the Boston Urban Forest Coalition. In 2017 Andrew wrote a master's thesis about the "Challenges of Public-Private Partnerships: A Case Study of the Boston Urban Forest Coalition." His work provides insight into the important work of the past and perhaps will provide insight into the work that lies ahead.

BUFC was an active group that started in 2007 with the goal of growing Boston's urban canopy through the Grow Boston Greener campaign. In preparation for the meeting, we've collected a few pieces for you to read:

(1) A 2010 article Jamaica Plain Gazette that describes the end of the Grow Boston Greener Campaign

(2) Information about the history and goals of BUFC

If you're feeling ambitious, here's the link to Andrew's thesis. It is quite long and detailed! As the meeting approaches, we'll share specific sections to help guide our discussion.

You can register here in advance to get the Zoom link. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. Looking forward to seeing you Friday!
