Temple B'nai Or
COVID updates
As the risk in Morris County has risen to code Red, there is no entry to the Temple Building except for staff and pre-school students. If you need to pick up or drop off something at TBO, please contact the office to make arrangements.  Please do not come to the Temple building if you are sick or if you or a member of your household is under quarantine.

To help stem the tide of this virus, please consider downloading the COVID Alert NJ app onto your smartphone (free from both Apple and Google app stores).  It provides anonymous, automatic contact tracing so that if someone you have been near contracts COVID, you are contacted and know to self isolate.  We can all help slow the spread of COVID if we download this app today!

Finally, the state of NJ has opened a Vaccination Registry.  You can sign up now after answering some questions that will determine where you fall in the order of priority.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

Lifelong Learning at TBO Fall 5781
Take exciting new steps on your journey of Jewish learning

Our Melton (Interactive Jewish Study) Classes
start up again tonight!!!
Registration is about to close, last chance to sign up

This class is about to close to new registrants.  Last chance to Join Rabbi for “Social Justice: The Heart of Judaism.”  Social justice is a response to suffering and indignity in our lives and the world that is different from a service response. This course draws from text and history to explore how social justice work goes beyond addressing immediate needs. It looks at structural causes of injustice.  Want to get a taste first?  Recordings of the first two classes are at https://youtu.be/Xq3suGi3hVg and https://youtu.be/rPP6tAUzkec. Like what you see?  Register by the class tonight, January 7, 2021.  After that, the class will be closed to new members. Course fee $220. Scholarships are available.

Join Rabbi, Cantor, and David Iskovitz starting January 10th for “Foundations of Jewish Family Living."  This course provides parents of all ages a small group opportunity to delve deeply into Jewish values and to learn how to share these values with their children of all ages. Appropriate for families where one or both parents are Jewish. Generously supported by the endowment of the Joel and Helen Jacobs Religious School.  “A warm space to reflect on and develop Jewish beliefs, morals, and practices and to bring those to my personal and parenting life.” – TBO member

Other Temple-Wide Information

You can help the Temple while you shop online. Simply shop at smile.amazon.com/ch/22-6077572 or with AmazonSmile ON in the Amazon Shopping app, designate Temple B'nai Or as the group you are proud to support,  and AmazonSmile donates to Temple B'nai Or.

Coping with quarantine restrictions and also taking care of your basic needs and your families is a challenge in itself during this pandemic.  Many families, regardless of their feelings about Amazon, are relying on their home delivery services, as shopping is so limited and often unsafe for many of us.  Every time you order from AmazonSmile (same thing as Amazon but through their philanthropic site), they will donate a portion of your order to TBO. There is no additional cost to you.  However, if we all sign up, it will add up to a nice pooled donation from all of us to our Temple. Simply remember to designate TBO as your charity of choice! Log into smile.amazon.com and select "Temple B'nai Or of Morristown."  Thank you, and stay healthy and safe!
