Weekly News

Dear friends,

This Sunday we celebrate The Feast of the Baptism of Christ. John the Baptist baptises Jesus in the River Jordan and God's voice from heaven is heard saying that Jesus is his beloved Son. This moment at the beginning of Jesus' adult ministry follows on directly from the Feast of the Epiphany and both are ways in which the divine nature of Jesus is made manifest. New online Bible Study group
Many of you are staying away from church at the moment because of the current lockdown, so we are planning to offer more online opportunities. On the 14th January at 6pm we will launch our first Zoom Bible Study, everyone is welcome, please let me know if you wish to join.

4 NEW Whatsapp Groups
If you would like to belong to a new themed church whatsapp group, please let me know which ones you wish to join and I will add you. Ideas of other sorts of groups gratefully received and you can be a member of more than one group!

1. Social Group,
To encourage one another with our news and stories and offers of help given and requested etc.
2. Theology Group
To share and discuss our reading whether in books or online and what questions we have.
3. Prayer Group,
To share situations and people to pray for and to share our experiences of prayer in lockdown.
4. Music Group
To share the music that is uplifting and meaningful for us at the moment.

Back to Basics Course
After mass on Sunday, I will lead the Back-to-Basics course on the prayer. Everyone is welcome but you must attend if you wish to be Baptised and/or Confirmed at Candlemas.
