Attendance & what to do if your child is absent:

Students enrolled at JAMS are expected to engage in distance learning in order to meet compulsory school attendance requirements. Attendance for each student will be recorded in Illuminate daily. If a student is unable to be online for distance learning, parents must report this to the school attendance clerk.

Parents may report absences via the JAMS website (click on the "Find It Fast" button at the top right and then select "Report an Absence"; or click here) or by sending an email to jbeekman@smmusd.org. Please be sure to provide your child's name, ID number or birthdate, date of absences and a detailed reason for the absence. If the absence is technology related, please write "technology issues" under the "Other" option.

Absences must be reported within 72 hours from the date of absence in order to have your child's record up to date. Absences that are not cleared within 72 hours will be recorded as truant. For more information on district attendance policies, please refer to SMMUSD's Attendance FAQ page.
