A line from
your fellow pastor
and
DOM,
Dr. David H. Haynes

From Rhonda and me, we wish you a Happy New Year. The New Year is an excellent time to reevaluate the things you are doing, both in ministry and in your personal life. This month marks my one-year anniversary as your Director of Missions. I have learned a lot since taking over last year, and in spite of the difficulties, we have accomplished many things. I had no idea what challenges would come upon us when I started last year.

We are still dealing with the COVID crisis as we start in 2021, but hopefully things will get better soon. As we struggle with the obstacles, I also think we should focus on new opportunities that are revealing themselves to us. I am reminded of the words of Apostle Paul, “For a great and effective door is opened to me, and there are many adversaries” (I Cor. 16:9). This may be an excellent time to walk through new doors as other doors have closed. Sometimes we keel trying to do what we always done, when those methods aren’t effective any longer. We keep trying to kick down doors that are closed instead walking through new open doors. I plan to use this time to reevaluate everything we’re doing, both as pastor and DOM. I encourage you to do the same.
