Language Practice Clubs for IP & I-House Students

This semester the IP will host online foreign language conversation practice groups! IP students and I-House members are invited to attend. Groups will meet once a week for 50 minutes from the weeks of Jan 25th to March 5th

Students are welcome to attend multiple language groups (e.g., the group for your IP language, the group for your heritage language, the group for the language you studied in high school, etc.). Thematic conversation prompts (mostly in English, but you'll speak about them in your target language) will be provided each week. However, practice groups are not intended to be language lessons. Thus, students should have at least one semester of experience with the language to participate.

This is a great opportunity to practice your language skills and meet other students who speak or are studying your language(s) of interest! Sign up on the interest form here by Jan. 19
Spring Meal Clubs

Meal clubs are back, and will run for the month of February (4 meetings). Meal clubs are groups of students who join online or in person for a meal. Meal clubs are a great way to get to know other IP students through seeing the same faces each week.

There will be one combined online meal club and several small groups for in person lunch clubs (outdoor eating strongly encouraged and distancing required). To register to be placed in an in-person lunch club, complete this form by Jan. 23rd

The online meal club will meet via BlueJeans on Fridays from 12:00-1:00 p.m., and we'll have a student designated to keep conversation flowing. Register to participate in the online meal club here.
Workshop: The IP for Interviews and Networking

Have you already completed at least one of your international experiences? Come learn how to communicate the value of the IP in interviews and networking settings before the spring All Majors Career Fair! The IP for interviews and networking is an interactive online workshop and will be held Jan. 20th from 4:00-5:15 p.m. Register here. (Note: this workshop requires that attendees have completed at least one international experience.)
Graduating this Semester?

If you are graduating this semester and want to have the International Plan designation on your diploma, be sure to complete a degree designation form, have your academic advisor or IP representative sign off, and then make an appointment to review it with the IP Manager by Monday, Feb. 8th! You can use the courses listed on the Student Summary/Progress Report you received Friday, Jan. 8th, 2021.

**Please do NOT use DocuSign as this makes it hard for the Registrar to process the form. You can set up a GT Dropbox folder to securely pass your document to signatories.

Please reach out to internationalplan@oie.gatech.edu with any concerns about completing the IP.
IP Capstone Workshop and Q&A Session

Attention 3rd, 4th, and 5th year IP students! Come learn about the IP capstone requirement in a live online session on Friday, Jan. 22nd from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Register here to be sent the event link.
*This is especially important if you are enrolled in your capstone course this term! Also, if you haven't already, please email ilana@oie.gatech.edu that you are taking your capstone this term.
**Students in their 1st and 2nd years are welcome to email with capstone questions but do not need to attend the workshop until later in their academic careers.
