Dear Ones,
Today has been a roller coaster that started with the groundbreaking news out of Georgia about Rev. Raphael Warnock's senate win, something that I keep coming back to, that I keep holding onto.
And then the news and images came of a mob storming and overtaking the US Capitol building in a horrifying act of terrorism, an attempted coup. Whatever happens as the day continues to progress, the damage to our collective soul today has been tremendous. What's more, the impact falls on each of us differently, hurting many, particularly Black, Indigenous, and people of color, more deeply.
As events continue to unfold, I invite us all to breathe, to cry, to rage, to reach out, to light a candle, to feel what we need to feel. We may be feeling outrage, fear, grief, anxiety, or some combination of these or other feelings. All our feelings are valid.
And, as we've been practicing this liturgical year, we must not both be numbed or let our feelings overwhelm us and move us into helplessness or inactivity. We must feel. We must protect those we love. And we must work for love and justice.
So let us find our center in the chaos and terror.
To help us do that, here are some UU online spaces that are available tonight:

We know that we are a people of faith, of hope, and of love.
We are a people who find and know Love Abundant through covenantal community.
And we are a people who strive to live Love ever more fully and fiercely into the world.
May it be so today and all days, even when all seems dark, even when our hearts have broken.
Love and Blessings,
Rev. Diana
