Openreach Update

Due to the recent Lockdown announcement, Openreach have released information on how they will be working moving forward.

Provision work for copper and superfast products will continue as per our Amber working.

  • Openreach will not attend to carry out shift orders.
  • Where repair work is required, engineers will only enter end customer premises where needed on appointed Total Loss of Service

FTTP & Gfast:

  • For new orders, the appointment books will be pushed out to 1st March and beyond. Openreach will work with us to provide an escalation process in cases where the end customer has no existing broadband service or is receiving a service of less than 30Mbps (to help support home working and schooling)
  • Inflight orders will be rescheduled to March and beyond for orders where the customer has an existing broadband service with Openreach above 30Mbps. Openreach will continue to work with us on the finer details and processes involved.
  • Unappointed FTTP orders will be unaffected.

Ethernet

  • Where essential businesses remain open (and safe access to the end customer premises is available), Openreach will provide Ethernet service end-to-end, while following safe working practices.
  • Where Openreach can’t gain safe building access, or follow safe working practices, then external build to the curtilage will continue.
