Rights, not charity.
8 January 2021

CRIN, the think tank, has a new creative sister. She’s in Berlin. And her name is The Rights Studio. She’s a social enterprise focused exclusively on experimenting with creative ideas and communicating through art. So while CRIN will continue as the legal, research and policy arm, The Rights Studio will be the playground where everyone is invited to play.

As the brainchild of CRIN colleagues, Miriam Sugranyes and Veronica Yates, she will very soon announce her existence with an online festival of events (watch this space). But as a preview of things to come, her creators are brewing a weekly blog which will explore questions that NGOs and other institutions don’t like to ask ourselves. They hope, however, that you secretly want to join the conversation. They can’t promise you answers, but they guarantee they’ll ask better questions that challenge the status quo and acknowledge that there’s always room for improvement. Much like their approach, The Rights Studio will be experimental, and their blog will share the journey, the thinking and all the rest with you. They think it’s a tall order, but, in their own words, “we believe that with humility, reflection and openness it is a challenge worth taking.”
