Dear Brothers & Sisters,
In the wake of yesterday’s events in our capitol, I met this morning with three other local pastors in our presbytery. We have decided to hold a brief time of prayer on Zoom at 6:00 pm tonight. This event is open to all.
The prayer will be led by the pastors of the First United Presbyterian Church of Newville, Middle Spring Presbyterian Church, First Presbyterian Church of Carlisle and Silver Spring Presbyterian Church. After a welcome and reading of Matthew 5:1-12, we will focus on the specific sections of the beatitudes and pray from them, followed by a brief time of silence. We will then close in the Lord’s Prayer.
Please join us as you are able for what we hope will be a time of blessing, healing and unity, rooted in Christ’s teaching.
