A Message from Our President
Woodinville Arts Alliance President, Carol Hook
Happy New Year Everyone!

I hope the new year finds you and your family well. All of us with WAA are hopeful for a brighter and more engaging year. I could not be prouder of our Art Experience Committee and our Teen Council Committee for managing to keep these events going last year with great success under such difficult circumstances. Bravo!

We continue to do our best to keep our member artists engaged and recognized in our community. We have our Art Walks scheduled for the year and we are looking to have our Art Studio Tour in September. We are super excited to have this event return!

We hope we can all meet soon in person for our quarterly membership meetings, but until then we will continue them via Zoom. January 27th we have
Miha Sarani speaking on the topic of "What does the art market look like in our digital future?". These quarterly meetings are designed to offer some educational opportunities as well as networking with other local artists.
Please join us!

Our Finance Chair is still vacant. If you or anyone you know is looking for a way to be involved with WAA, then let us know! We could also use more folks on our committees, if you want another way to be involved.

Woodinville Teen Arts Alliance

The 2020/2021 Woodinville Teen Arts Alliance was chosen by the City of Woodinville and the Woodinville Rotary Club to design and paint a 10’ Peace Pole in honor of  First Responders. They have been working super hard with their mentor groups, meeting virtually and have come up with three great concepts to present to the city.

This is an amazing honor and privilege! The money earned by painting the Peace Pole will go toward art workshops for the teens in the council. Thank you Woodinville Rotary Club and the City of Woodinville!

Woodinville Weekly Features Woodinville Arts Alliance
Winter Art Walk

Mosaics artist Teresa White is exhibiting at Sol Stone

Woodinville Arts Alliance is continuing to take an alternative approach to the quarterly art walk by partnering with local artists to showcase their work virtually.

The Winter Art Walk features 10 local artists with work showcased in 10 participating locations, including local small businesses, wineries, breweries and cider houses around Woodinville. The alliance’s third virtual art walk kicked off on Dec. 4 from a link on its website: www.woodinvilleartsalliance.com

“We want to continue to support our local businesses and our local artists,” said Stacey Almgren, programs chair for the Woodinville Arts Alliance. “We’re hoping to create some more visual interest now that everybody is stuck at home.”

Almgren said the virtual tour covers everything from traditional to contemporary. Fine artist Tara Jennings has been putting together the video component of each art walk. The video includes a slide about artists and pictures of their work, all which are available for purchase. Artwork ranges from acrylic and oil to glass and photography.

To stay connected with local businesses, the video also features each exhibiting location. These slides include information on pre-ordering, curbside pick-up, capacity changes, updated hours and links to menus.
