The SARS-CoV2 vaccine gives us all hope that 2021 will be a better year, but we all recognize that our GIM hospitalists and outpatient clinicians will continue to be tested in ways that we could not have imagined before 2020. There is no way to adequately thank all of you, but especially our hospitalists, who bring compassion, grit, and fortitude to work every day.
As we are coming into what may prove to be the worst part of the pandemic, please remember to reach out to your colleagues for support and help every day. We are strongest together.

Welcome Dr. Chelsea Shover
Dr. Chelsea Shover joins our GIM-HSR division on February 1 as an Assistant Professor in Residence. Chelsea is coming to us after completing a postdoctoral research fellowship at Stanford. Many of you know her from her time matriculating her PhD at the UCLA SPH in the Department of Epi or from current research collaborations with her. Her research focuses on the intersection of policy, personal characteristics, health behaviors, and substance use. She was recently awarded an NIH K01 to support a project entitled "Adoption and scale up of long-acting medications for opioid use disorder by U.S. clinicians."
Please join us in offering Chelsea a warm GIM-HSR welcome!

GIM Clinicians' Corner
Congratulations to Division members Daniel Croymans and Maria Han on their recent publication describing the rapid transition from in-person to telehealth visits at UCLA Health. A big thank you to all of our clinicians who have made this transition possible! It should give us all great pride to see that UCLA GIM is leading the nation telehealth delivery.
