Dear COS Families,

I hope this message finds you and your family well!  It has been so awesome to have students back in the building, and as always, it is great to see our full distance learners have daily real time interaction with their teachers and classmates.

I am sure many of you have heard about the mass vaccination distribution occurring this weekend, with two of the primary focuses being childcare workers and educators.  As a school, we were very blessed to have many of our staff be able to sign up for their first dose of the vaccine, which will occur over these next few days.  We also have some staff that were put on a waiting list, and we are hopeful another opportunity for them to receive the vaccine is in the very near future.

As Archdiocesan leadership has stated in communication to school leadership, "Access to the COVID-19 vaccine may be one of the most consequential mitigation strategies for those providing in-person learning."  We pray that access to vaccine continues to increase and becomes available to ALL those wanting vaccination as soon as possible.

In next week's newsletter, there will be updates on Community of Saints' proposed full return dates.

Below is a reminder of these TENTATIVE plans:

If and when we fully return, families will still have the option to continue in full distance.  If and when we fully return in person, while families can still opt into full distance learning, the hybrid model will no longer be an option.

K-1: Fully returns Wednesday, January 20th; full distance is still an option

2-5: TENTATIVELY to return on Tuesday, February 16th; full distance will still be an option

6-8: TENTATIVELY to return on Monday, March 1st; full distance will still be an option

The variables that continue to be monitored include:

  • Vaccination roll-out and the timing of staff’s access to vaccination

  • 14 day county numbers, specifically in Ramsey and Dakota counties

  • Community spread trends and projections of community spread

  • MDH guidelines and the school’s capabilities to follow all guidelines at full capacity

Thank you for your patience, grace and flexibility during these times.  We are so proud to serve your family, and we remain committed to your student(s) experiencing faith, inclusivity and love at Community of Saints.

Enrollment 2021-22 School Year

Our early enrollment period is underway for the 2021-22 school year.

Enrollment for current K-7 students

You do not need to do anything at this time.  Current K-7 students fall under our continuous enrollment process. Continuous enrollment means once a student enrolls at Community of Saints, we assume the student will remain at the school through 8th grade unless a family tells us otherwise. The vast majority of Community of Saints families re-enroll from year-to-year and continuous enrollment simplifies that process – no forms or due dates!

In January, current kindergarten through 7th grade students will be placed on the class list for 2021-2022 school year.  In March, your TADS Tuition Management account will be charged a $50 registration fee.  This fee exists for costs associated with planning and purchasing for next year.

If you do not plan to have your child/ren at Community of Saints next year, we ask that you contact the school office by January 31st.  This allows us to cancel your registration fee and plan accordingly for 2020-21 enrollment.  Alternatively, if you have a sibling you would like to register or a new family to recommend to our school, new student enrollment forms are available in the school office.

Current Preschool Students

Current preschool students must re-enroll for the 2021-22 school year.  The month of January is our early enrollment period in which preschool students and siblings of current students have enrollment priority for preschool and kindergarten for the 2021-22 school year.

Siblings of Current Students

If you wish to enroll a sibling who isn’t currently enrolled, please do so now during the early enrollment period throughout January.  Sibling enrollment forms are available through the school office.

District 197 Bus Meal Delivery:
Since December 7, School District 197 has been delivering daily breakfasts and lunches to children ages 1-18 at drop-off points throughout the district. No registration and no identification is required. Simply come to a drop-off point near you at the delivery time on school days and get meals for your children. Buses will wait 10 minutes at each site.
