Step onboard the Global Mercy

Get a sneak peek and guided tour of our new teaching hospital ship, the Global Mercy, from Jim Paterson, who has been overseeing the build. Our new ship has 199 patient beds, 6 operating rooms, and accommodations for more than 640 volunteer crew members.

The Global Mercy will enable us to double our impact and double our hope leading to countless lives changed.

You can be one of the first to look around.

Meet Emmanuel Essah

Meet one of our Heroes of Healthcare: biomedical equipment engineer Emmanuel Essah. He is a silent force who plays a crucial role in transforming lives. He performs the maintenance of medical equipment, trains engineers, and is currently setting up a new training facility.

Emmanuel Essah is our hero from Benin and he has been working with Mercy Ships for over 10 years. As a biomedical equipment technician (BMET), he ensures medical equipment is well-maintained and trains other BMETs in Africa to do the same.

Read more about him in our latest Heroes of Healthcare story.

Tresor's Sight Returns

This is Tresor. He is 4 years old and lives in Cameroon. When he began struggling in school, his family didn't know Tresor was losing his eyesight.

Cataract surgery is a relatively simple procedure, but in places like Cameroon, such an operation is hard to come by. Thanks to the support of our generous Mercy Ships donors, Tresor has his sight restored and his future lies ahead of him.

This work is only possible because of the generosity of the Mercy Ships community.
