CRB-funded Researcher Looking for Grower Cooperator in the San Joaquin Valley
CRB-funded researcher Dr. Peter Ako Larbi, University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) Assistant Specialist, is looking for a citrus orchard (any type) in the San Joaquin Valley to conduct a spray drift experiment. The orchard must have a minimum row length of 500 feet and adjacent bare ground or low-lying vegetation of 600 feet downwind. This experiment is expected to take place between March and April 2021.

State of the Central Valley Meeting
to be held February 4th
Growers and industry members in the San Joaquin region and surrounding areas are invited to attend the virtual State of the Central Valley meeting presented by the Citrus Pest & Disease Prevention Division (CPDPD) and the University of California on Tuesday, February 4, 2021, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM.
Attendees will receive an overview on the current status of the Asian citrus psyllid and huanglongbing in the region and be able to ask questions to staff members from the CPDPD, University of California researchers and local grower liaisons.
The meeting will take place via Zoom and requires registration to attend. A calendar invitation with the meeting log-in information will be sent to you prior to the meeting.

Rise in ACP Finds - A Reminder to Stay Alert
The Citrus Pest and Disease Prevention Committee Chair Jim Gorden recently released a letter to the California citrus industry reminding all to work together and stay alert when it comes to Asian citrus psyllid detections.

CDFA Announces One Vacancy on the CPDPC
The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) is announcing one vacancy on the Citrus Pest and Disease Prevention Committee (CPDPC). The Committee advises the CDFA secretary on activities associated with the statewide citrus specific pest and disease work plan that includes, but is not limited to outreach and education programs and programs for surveying, detecting, analyzing, and treating pests and diseases specific to citrus.
The members receive no compensation, but are entitled to payment of necessary travel expenses in accordance with the rules of the Department of Personnel Administration.
Committee member vacancy exists for one grower representative from Fresno County. The member's term expires on September 30, 2023. Applicants should have an interest in agriculture and citrus pest and disease prevention. Individuals interested in being considered for a committee appointment should send a brief resume by February 15, 2021, to the California Department of Food and Agriculture, Citrus Pest and Disease Prevention Division, 1220 N Street, Sacramento, California 95814, Attention: David Gutierrez.

Proposed Expansion of the HLB Quarantine Boundary
