In Deuteronomy God promises to raise up a prophet like Moses, who will speak for God; in Psalm 111 God shows the people the power of God’s works. For the church these are ways of pointing to the unique authority people sensed in Jesus’ actions and words. We encounter that authority in God’s word, around which we gather, the word that prevails over any lesser spirit that would claim power over us, freeing us to follow Jesus.

Noah will share about his experience growing up in the church and his call to ministry. Join in the conversation with Noah as we discuss ways Redeemer can continue to live more deeply into our call and recognition as a Reconciling in Christ congregation.

The special congregational meeting to discuss the proposed constitutional changes has been postponed to Sunday, March 14 at 11:00am.

Special Congregational Meeting Postponed to Sunday, March 14

Congregational Watch Party
On Wednesday, January 27 at 7:00PM join Redeemer as we host a Congregational Watch Party of an episode of Netflix’s Queer Eye, featuring ELCA Pastor Noah Hepler. Learn about Noah’s experience growing up in the church and his call to ministry. Following our viewing of the episode, join us in discussion as we continue to seek to live into our call towards reconciliation and affirmation.

Adult Forum Series – Lesser Known Heroes of the Protestant Reformation
Join us as Dr. Kurt Hendel leads a new series on the lesser known heroes of the Protestant Reformation. Next week, Wednesday, February 3 at 7:00PM, join us as we learn about Johannes Bugenhagen. Join us virtually via Zoom as we learn about the leaders who helped to reshape our world and faith. Dates for this series include Wednesdays, January 20, February 3, February 10 at 7:00PM and Sunday, February 14 at 11:00AM.

Lenten soup suppers are going virtual this year! Send us your favorite soup recipe for a Redeemer Lenten Soup Supper Recipe Book that will be shared with the congregation. Send recipes (and photos if you have them) to

The Search for Redeemer’s Next Music Director Restarts!

Council has authorized the Music Director Search Committee to resume our work and we are hoping to hire by Easter! We have room for a new member or two to join our efforts. If you are interested in joining the committee, please email Search Chair Will Swenson.

Baptism/Water/Font Pictures Wanted!

We still need your photos so please email them to Heike. We will be including a Thanksgiving for Baptism in our services this season and would like you to be able to participate in a tangible way. Any kind of container will do: If there's anything we learned in 2020, it is that God will meet us where we are! We'd love to see your creativity. Send Heike a picture of your worship space including water or a baptism photo and we will include these in our upcoming worship videos.

Virtual New Member Class at Redeemer!

All new members are invited to take part in a new member class. The class will take place over Zoom on Saturday, January 30th from 9-10:00AM and Sunday, February 7th from 11-11:30AM. New
members will be received at our 10AM Zoom Service on Sunday, February 14th. If you cannot attend the class, or will be out of town on the 14th, please contact Pastor Katie to make other arrangements.
