John Gabriel Report - January 2021

My Presence will go with you!
Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)

Yes, all of us at Kerala Christ Church Mission can affirm God’s presence with us as we move forward in our work in His vineyard. He is our identity and, in Him, all things are possible.

More than ever before, the scenario is changing and is highly dynamic. We are not sure and certain of where we are heading to and what is in store for us. Yet, for His children, the greatest assurance is God’s Presence leading us into His future. While we are thankful and grateful for His presence in our lives, we believe and move with boldness, for there is a Hand above guiding us.

Our God wants us to journey with boldness into the new normal, into the uncharted territory, trusting in Him. Due to Covid 19, while all the churches and schools were closed, God strengthened us with His Words and enabled us to move forward. Only few churches could go online but all the churches opened by December 2020, abiding the Covid protocols by the government.

Crossroads School went completely online on Microsoft platform and was a success. Even though there was a significant drop in the fee payment, with the whole-hearted support of many, we could pay the monthly salary of all the staff members without fail.

The kids at Children’s village are also attending classes online and they got to spend Christmas at a hill station this year!

The Bible college ministry in Tamil Nadu state has restarted with full attendance.

The Mission belongs to Him; He is the LORD; He is our Sustainer. Glory be to Him!

Church at Thirunelveli

Joshua, Thilaka, Alex and Achsah

This is our first church started in Thirunelveli, Tamilnadu by Bro.Alex, brother of K S Sam Aleppy. Thirunelveli is a much populated area. Our mission, under the leadership of  V K Mathew and Sam, started Bible Classes twice in a month.  The beginning was very hard. It takes almost 6-7 hours of drive from Pampady to reach there. 22 people attended that Bible College program. About 4-5 preachers came out of the training, from the church. God blessed abundantly and the church started to grow.

Though the training program discontinued for a short time during the corona time, it has started again.

Most of our churches shut down during the corona time.  But this church continued the worship after the initial two months of lock down.  Here we see the mighty presence of our Lord.  Lord added another 150 souls to His church.  Praise the Lord.  Now the church run up to 650 people every Sunday.  Church is self supporting.  Our mission helped them during the Corona time.

This church is a testimony that Lord can do miracles if we submit our lives to Him. Thank you for your prayers and support.  Please pry for Alex and family and the church at Tirunelveli.

"We Shall Overcome!"

On top of a mountain, after the trek at Vagamon

Children’s Village kids celebrated Christmas with the Gabriel's at a hill station at Vagamon this year. This was the first time they were getting out of the campus since the lockdown started in March. The two day trip in the cold weather was a wonderful experience for the young and old alike. The kids sang and danced all the way down and back during the two hour trip. The trek they did was the highlight of the trip. The sense of accomplishment each one experienced is indescribable. Christmas was celebrated with fireworks, camp fire, lots of games, singing, dancing and good food.

Help Request for a Prosthetic Limb

Bro. Matthai K. T (61) is a member of Christ Church Puthuveli and attending Church services regularly for more than 10 years. He was working as wood cutter and few years back one of His legs was amputated due to wound infection. Since then he was not able to work and his wife meets their daily expenses by a small income that she earns from working as a maid servant in nearby houses.

He was using a prosthetic limb he received from a charitable organisation for last many years and presently it is in a broken and in an unusable condition. A new limb costs around $700/-. Since he is not able to meet the expense, church decided to raise a fund for this cause and was able to raise about $300/-.

Please pray that God will open hearts to contribute to the cause. If any one feels to donate towards this cause, please send it to G.M.I John Gabriel India Fund.  Thank you for your partnership and prayers.
