Welcome to the UKSIC Insider

Hello and welcome to the UK Safer Internet Centre Insider. Every month we will bring you the latest stories and updates from the three partners in the UKSIC: Childnet International, The IWF (Internet Watch Foundation), and SWGfL (South West Grid for Learning).

With less than two weeks to go until Safer Internet Day we are making sure you have everything you need to help spread the word and get involved on Tuesday 9th February. Make sure you sign up as a supporter and check out our free downloadable resources to learn more about this year's theme of reliability online.
Less Than Two Weeks To Go Until Safer Internet Day

There are now less than two weeks to go until Safer Internet Day! We are running down the top 6 things you can do now to get ready to celebrate on the 9th February.Included are ways you can support the day itself including registering interest in the Guinness World Record attempt and downloading the remote learning adaptions of the educational materials.
There's also instructions about how you can support on social media and taking the online safety quiz to test out your knowledge.

To register your support and get involved in Safer Internet Day, filling out this form will let you join our supporters list and let you share how you will be celebrating the day itself. Share what activities you have prepared and spread the word about our theme of reliability online.

UKSIC Join With Liverpool FC For Safer Internet Day Event 

This year, Liverpool FC are supporting Safer Internet Day by taking part in an event with UKSIC on the 9th February at 1:30pm. If you want to watch the team talk about our theme this year of reliability online then join us on our UKSIC Youtube Channel this Safer Internet Day.

POSH Helpline Prepare For Q & A Event This Safer Internet Day

The POSH Helpline are running a live Q & A event at 4:00pm this Safer Internet Day on the UKSIC Facebook channel. In preparation for this event, if you have any questions about online safety or about the topic of reliability online, you can write your question in the form below and our helpline practitioners will try and answer it on the day

 Ways For Schools And Other Settings To Celebrate Remotely

This Safer Internet Day we want to support all settings and young people in exploring the theme, ‘An internet we trust: exploring reliability in the online world.’

With many young people now learning remotely, we have produced four documents giving an overview of the exciting resources available. This means all young people can join in the celebrations for Safer Internet Day, wherever they are.
