As the Year of the Ox approaches, we are delighted to share with you the latest in our TEQ series: May Shen’s tenth- and eleventh-graders from the Ursuline Academy of Dallas, Texas, learning about Chinese New Year.

In this video, you'll see how Shen presents her information effectively and maximizes her students' learning. She uses a zooming-in strategy, along with tasks and activities that require students to integrate speaking and reading and use the new language items.

Using our global competence model as a framework, this work aims to provide specific tools to use in classrooms to ensure all students are given equal opportunity to succeed.
