February 2021 Newsletter

We have launched our new website!

We invite the community (students, staff, and faculty) to participate by joining in our website Scavenger Hunt. We'll give you a list of items to find on our website and you can submit your answers via this google form. All correct entries will be entered into two drawings to win a Fleece Blanket from the Brown Bookstore! Winners will be announced on our Facebook and Instagram pages. 

Submissions deadline: February 6, 2021 at 5pm.
Buy-Give-Get
Every year, DPS sells snacks to department members in an effort to help out local organizations and charities. This year, we contributed to Ocean State Job Lot's coat program for veterans called BUY-GIVE-GET. When you purchase a coat for $40, the coat is given to a veteran in need, and you receive a $40 gift card to Job Lot. DPS was able to purchase five coats to help veterans stay warm this winter and used the gift card to donate $200 worth of canned goods for the RI Community Food Bank. We hope you can get involved in this awesome initiative!
Upcoming Events:

Today!! Feb 3 at 6 pm Get a Kick out of Safety: We will host a virtual session to discuss personal safety and when to use different self-defense techniques in a variety of situations. This will be an interactive 1-hour session with extra time for Q&A’s. All are welcome. Scan the image above or Sign up here.

Other virtual sessions will take place on Feb 11, 18, 24.
